Augmented Reality (AR) has become an emerging technology for enhancing sports training, performance evaluation, and interactive learning. This study examines publication trends and the knowledge structure of AR research in sports, with particular attention to basketball-related studies. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using 1,040 Scopus-indexed publications (2010–2026) and visualized with VOSviewer. The findings reveal a significant increase in publications after 2021, with Computer Science as the dominant subject area and China and the United States as the leading contributors. Keyword mapping identifies AR as the central research theme, strongly connected with virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and sports performance. However, basketball remains underrepresented, highlighting opportunities for future research on AR-based basketball training and performance systems
