Mental Health Psychology in a Biopsychosocial Perspective: Applications in Family, Workplace, Education, Older Adults, and Digital Technology

This article aims to articulate mental health psychology in a more focused, argumentative, and up-to-date literature-based way. Using a qualitative literature review method, it synthesizes journal literature, especially since 2020, on mental health concepts, the biopsychosocial model, promotion and prevention, psychological interventions, literacy and stigma, resilience, family, workplace, children and adolescents, older adults, and digital mental health. The findings show that mental health psychology should be understood as a holistic approach that positions mental well-being as the result of interactions between biological, psychological, social, cultural, economic, and technological factors. Mental health psychology apps work best when individual interventions are combined with environmental changes, like supportive parenting, a healthy work culture, school programs based on literacy and resilience, social support for the elderly, and safe, evidence-based digital technology. The main challenges include stigma, low literacy, gaps in service access, cross-sector fragmentation, cultural adaptation, and ethical risks in digital services. This article concludes that developing mental health requires integrated promotive, preventive, curative, and recovery strategies across sectors. Future research should evaluate the effectiveness of interventions based on local contexts and develop ethical, inclusive, and sustainable governance for digital mental health
